Joel Soriano Putting Up Player of the Year Numbers
St. John’s University Men’s Basketball (@StJohnsBBall, @stjohnsbball) center Joel Soriano (@joelsoriano22) is off to a roaring start to the 2023-24 season, posting a team-high of 17.4 points in 27:23 minutes per game through the first nine games of the year. Soriano is an outstanding +67 for the season, and his Value Points System of 2.60 is off the charts (a VPS of 1 is average). Soriano is also shooting a sizzling 62.8% on 2pt shots and 4 for 4 on Catch and Shoot 3’s. He’s doing it all! Though still early in the season, Soriano is establishing himself as an NCAA D1 Player of the Year candidate (@MarchMadnessMBB) (@NCAA). Unsurprisingly, he also has the highest usage rate among player with significant minutes (see stats above.)

It’s no surprise to see St. John’s off to its hot start with Soriano playing to the top of his potential.
